…reminds me of the photographs of William Eggleston, as well as the stories of Flannery O’ Connor, Bryant finds a key somewhere beyond condescension, in a world beyond temporal signifiers. Foot Soldier is a humane, human comedy that says no more than it has to, that contents itself with the sweet miracle of quotidian compassion. There's loveliness here in the light and in the heart.
